JOB DESCRIPTION - NURSERY NURSE
DUTIES
Work primarily with children age 0 – 2 in the baby room.
Work with children age 2 – 11 when required.
Use observational based planning and take key person responsibilities.
Organise resources and help to keep the Children’s Centre clean and tidy.
Take part in on-going training as required.
Prepare and serve healthy meals and snacks.
Support children with medical needs (training will be given).
Support children with special educational needs.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Level 3 qualification in Children’s Learning and Development
Experience of working with children age 0 – 2
Experience of working in an early years group setting
QUALITIES
Good communication skills and an understanding of the importance of talking and listening in the early years
A sense of fun - the ability to engage with children's play
The ability to empathise with the needs of children and babies.
Commitment to all children’s play and learning
SALARY – dependant on qualifications and experience
HOURS – 38 hours per week between 7.45 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. You will be given regular hours but need to be able to offer some flexibility due to changing needs in the baby room.
